The Minnesota UCG congregation

would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to join us in celebrating the 17th Families for God Weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 18-21, 2014. Our theme this year is, "Hearts of the Fathers" from Malachi 4:6.

About the 2014 Families for God Weekend

Fun & Fellowship in the Twin Cities during Days of Unleavened Bread!

Our theme this year is "The Hearts of the Fathers" from Malachi 4:6, and will feature exciting sermons, Bible studies and interactive workshops, with our special guest, Beyond Today's Steve Myers.

In addition to our signature teen prom, "Masquerade Ball," we will also host a fun game show for the young and young-at-heart, a delectable festive dinner, a refreshing ice cream social, an open mic jam session, a young adult activity, and an optional family outing at the ever-popular Nickelodeon Universe Park at the Mall of America. The weekend will be capped off with two services on the Last Day of Unleavened Bread.

The beautiful Minneapolis Marriott Northwest will again provide an upscale setting for hundreds of brethren who will enjoy specials and discounts in an all-suite environment with a complementary hot unleavened breakfast every morning for those who book rooms.

Activities

In an effort to make the Holy Day weekend as memorable and festive as possible, a beautiful hotel setting was chosen to again serve as a safe haven for our families. In close cooperation with the Marriott, we are pleased to offer the suites as well as each of the catered unleavened meals at significant savings over the regular, customary rates. Also, we are encouraged by the compassion and generosity of brethren serving one another by contributing to those who would otherwise not be able to participate in the meals and activities. As we follow the example of the early church, let's "continue in the Apostles’ doctrine, and fellowship, and breaking of bread, and prayers." (Acts 2:42) The weekend’s activities will provide ample opportunity to do so.

Festive Dinner / Ice-Cream Bar
After sunset, we will host a fun game show for the young and young-at-heart, followed by an open mic jam session. So, bring your instruments!

Teen Dinner / Prom & Dance / Ice-Cream Bar
Calling all teens ages 13 – 19 (plus 12-year-olds who will turn 13 in 2014) to this year’s prom themed: "Masquerade Ball." We expect over 50 teens to join in this memorable event, which includes honoring our graduating seniors. Each participant will receive a decorative mask upon arrival!

Saturday Night Young Adults Activity
A late evening of fun at Grand Slam in Coon Rapids: After the ice cream social, we will head to Coon Rapids until midnight and enjoy unlimited multi-level laser tag, unlimited mini-golf, unlimited crazy cars, four arcade tokens and one batting cage token. This active late evening is all the more fun with friends to enjoy it with! Since this activity is not at the hotel, every attempt to coordinate rides will be made.

Location & Housing

Minneapolis Marriott Northwest Hotel

Due to popular demand and wonderful feedback from last year's participants, we are excited to return to the newly renovated all-suite, Minneapolis Marriott Northwest Hotel (7025 Northland Drive North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55428).

The suites comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests at a most attractive price of $99 per night (plus tax) including a hot, unleavened breakfast to meet our special dietary needs. The price includes 4 breakfasts per suite. Couples are encouraged to donate their extra tickets to large families staying at the hotel.

The hot, unleavened breakfast includes: scrambled eggs with cheese; turkey bacon or turkey sausage; fresh sliced fruit, assorted cereal, 2% milk and chocolate milk; orange juice; grilled flat bread served with butter and preserves, cinnamon and sugar, coffee and decaffeinated coffee.

We have asked the hotel to set aside 40 suites and we encourage the brethren to stay at the hotel, as many activities run late into the night! Let's plan to spend extra time together, having our lodging in the evening just steps away from our fellowship!

Please call 1-888-236-2427 or access the link below to book your hotel reservation:
